Figuratively speaking, the “heart” of a matter is where you find its true substance, what we should pay careful attention to, as all the rest around it might just be what appears to be, according to how it’s perceived from outside and the interpretation that we each give to it.
I believe that we were asked to “love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind” (Matt. 22:37) because that’s where we process all the thoughts and intents of our inner being, and where we can exercise …

There’s a secret place inside of us where our heart and mind are in a continual dialog with each other, trying to sort things out in a way that will make us feel good, but not always succeeding at it. Our thoughts and our emotions are constantly discussing issues and events that are effecting us in a personal way, and trying to decide what to do about it …
If someone does and says something that is hurting our feelings, our mind will immediately start a conversation with our heart to …

Once you have recognized the symptoms of a broken heart in your life, you become aware that you need an inner healing, what we recently called the healing of the soul. However, to start this healing process, you will need to receive an accurate diagnosis and the most suitable treatment for your personal case. To get these, you will need to set aside some time to meet the Soul Doctor, the One that we have identified as the greatest soul expert and specialist who was sent by God “to heal the …

In our reflections on the care of our soul and our spiritual wellness, we have previously seen that, due to the wrong choice of our ancestors, we human beings inherit from birth the symptoms of a broken heart that are commonly referred to as “emotional wounds”.
These will often manifest themselves with negative feelings of:
Fear (the need to feel secure);
Insecurity (the need to feel protected);
Guilt (the need to be justified);
Low self-esteem (the need for a sense of value);
Inferiority complex (the need to feel unique and important);
Contempt for oneself (the need to redeem …

A bit over a week ago I wrote an introducing article on “the healing of the heart“, as that’s something that we all need! In some way or another, at a certain time and place in our lives, we have all been inflicted emotional wounds that are not setting us free to love, understand and forgive others, as we would want to be loved, understood and forgiven.
These wounds in the heart, if not properly cured and brought through the healing process, can actually become worse, bringing disastrous consequences even to …

This has been a particular and special week for those of us who have been watching and following the events in Haiti, and we just can’t stop thanking and praising God for the many miracles of lives rescued alive, even after 10 or more days under the rubble that has terribly hit that nation! The whole world has been watching those who came out alive from under the rubble and screamed: “Thank You Jesus!”
This was the fulfillment of a promise that the Lord had spoken to us on January 15, …

For many years my wife and I have used the last day of the year for a spiritual exercise that has been a guiding light for our lives, and each year we like to repeat this as sort of a ritual, whether we are alone or with friends on New Year’s Eve!
As the New Year approaches, it’s a great time to take stock of the past year and set goals for the next. So, on December 31, we take some time to reflect on the past year, taking into consideration three areas of …

After being away for almost three weeks, visiting friends in Canton Ticino (Italian speaking area of Switzerland), we are finally back home, after driving a whole day through highways and mountains filled with snow. We’re tired but happy to have it made it safely home.
I must confess that in the morning I was hesitating from starting on the 600 km drive back home, because of the news of the traffic being blocked on parts of the highways, due to the ice that was forming on the pavement and causing …

Journaling, Reflections, Words from Jesus »

Most of my faithful readers know that I regularly post the “Words From Jesus” that I receive from the Lord daily. These are what I personally call the spiritual “hot cakes” that are being served to me daily and fresh from God’s Heavenly bakery.
For years I enjoyed these by myself, and often I would share them with my wife, but a few months ago I was encouraged by one of my dearest friends on the web, dr. Randy Peck, whom I have never met personally, but have had many …

About three years ago, while conducting a community of young people who needed lots of care and attention, the Lord started to speak to my heart regarding the needs of those who lived in distant places and were not able to regularly receive the spiritual nourishment that they were hungry for. He made me feel the aching of their hungry hearts, but the pressing responsibilities of that time made it difficult for us to visit them more often.
This was not easy for me, as I really wanted to do God’s will and …
